Brent Walker, CFP®, President is head of business operations for WealthPoint Advisors, LLC. His primary responsibilities are business strategy decisions, client communication, investment advice and management, and new client acquisition.
Brent has been helping make clients’ financial lives easier for over 20 years. Brent earned his Certified Financial Planner® designation in 2001 and has been a member of the Financial Planning Association since 2000. Brent graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. After considerable research to find a good way to serve clients in a fiduciary manner, Brent worked with Mike Skehan to start RJP Investment Advisors in 1998. Brent continued his fee-only journey to serve clients by starting WealthPoint Advisors in October 2009. As a small business owner, Brent understands the mindset of our private business owner clients and how to plan for their personal financial needs.
Brent is a member of the Sertoma Club of East Indianapolis and has served as Treasurer, President, and Chairman of the Board. He is also a Past-President of the IU Kelley School of Business Alumni Association-Indianapolis. Brent is a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church and is a Past-President of the Holy Spirit Men’s Club. At home in Fishers, Brent is surrounded by three beautiful redheads, his wife Amanda and their two daughters. Brent and Amanda love touring wineries, spending time with their daughters at the beach, attending IU games, and visiting Lake Michigan. In his down time, he enjoys reading a good book, landscaping, and golfing on a warm and sunny day.
Michael Skehan, CPA, PFS, Senior Advisor is a well-known industry leader who has been recognized for his outstanding contributions both by his peers and community. Skehan was with RJ Pile for 44 years prior to retiring as managing partner to join WealthPoint Advisors LLC.
Mike graduated from Indiana University in 1965 with a BS in Accounting. Prior to that, Mike served in the US Army stationed in Europe. After college, Mike went to work as a staff accountant at RJ Pile and Co. Mike’s Certified Public Accountant designation was earned in 1971, and he served as member and chairman of several committees of both the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). He became a Partner in 1972 and eventually rose to and served as Managing Partner of the firm. Mike remained with the firm for 44 years until leaving to join WealthPoint Advisors in 2009.
In 1997, Mike earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialist from the AICPA. Mike remains a member of both organizations. In 1999, Mike was awarded the Public Service award for outstanding service in his community by both the INCPAS and the AICPA.
During Mike’s career, he has served as Treasurer of Meridian Street Methodist for approximately 20 years and remains a member of the church. Mike served 6 years as Treasurer on the Indiana Repertory Theatre Board and was a member of the Executive Committee. Mike served approximately 10 years as Treasurer and Executive Committee member of the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art, and he remains on their Advisory Board. At both civic organizations, Mike was instrumental in setting up their endowment and preparing the endowment investment philosophy.
Mike served on the Board of the Friends of White River, an environmental organization. Mike has also served as President of the East Indianapolis Sertoma Club working to open its membership to all. Mike has also served on the board of Indianapolis Fly Casters, and he is an avid fly fisher. Mike is semi-retired and works part-time, as needed, as a senior advisor.
Josh Bentz, CFP®
Josh Bentz, CFP®, Wealth Advisor, helps clients organize and simplify their financial lives by providing comprehensive, personal financial planning.
As a Wealth Advisor, Josh provides comprehensive financial planning for clients. He enjoys getting to know individuals and families so he can give specific, meaningful advice. He believes in being a fiduciary and doing what is in the best interest of clients.
Josh was born and raised in Kendallville, IN. He graduated from Purdue University in 2014 with Bachelor’s Degrees in both Financial Planning and Psychology, plus minors in Management and History. While at Purdue, Josh worked as an intern for a financial planning firm. After graduating, he began his career in Fort Wayne, IN with a fee-only registered investment advisor before relocating to Indianapolis and joining WealthPoint in April 2016.
Outside of work, Josh is a member of the Young Professionals of Central Indiana, and Agave, the young professional board of the Eiteljorg Museum. Josh was also involved with the Indiana Association of Student Councils (IASC) for over 5 years and served as a counselor at IASC’s high school leadership camp.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys traveling, having visited various cities and countries since graduating college. He is also an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to his Boilermakers. Josh lives in downtown Indianapolis, where he spends time exploring the city.
Alex is a Lead Advisor for WealthPoint Advisors, LLC. After a successful career in management consulting where he helped business executives solve their corporate challenges, he decided to pursue his passion in helping families and individuals on the personal side. Alex now enjoys helping his clients successfully plan for and navigate retirement.
Alex is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional who provides comprehensive financial advice. He supports clients with a wide range of services, including estate planning, retirement income planning, tax consultation, charitable giving, risk management, and other advanced planning solutions.
Alex graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and minor in Economics. He regularly returns to Purdue as a guest lecturer to provide personal finance tips and career advice to graduating seniors. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Fishers and Financial Planning Association of Greater Indiana.
In his spare time, Alex enjoys playing basketball, traveling, reading, watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and the occasional bourbon (current favorite, Old Forester Statesman). Alex married his high school sweetheart and resides in Fishers, Indiana with their two sons.
Brie Black, Support Advisor, analyzes financial planning and investment data, provides support for meetings, and helps with back office operations.
Brie is our newest Support Advisor and will be working with financial planning and investment data, providing support for client meetings, and helping with back-office operations while pursuing her CFP accreditation.
Brie grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended Texas A&M University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business with minors in Financial Planning and Communication. While in college she worked under a seasoned financial advisor who helped her recognize her passion for helping others understand and grow their financial life.
As an Indiana transplant, Brie likes to explore her adopted home of Indianapolis while keeping up with the Fightin’ Texas Aggies.
Nate is a Support Advisor for WealthPoint Advisors, LLC, he will help prepare and monitor investment plans, support client meetings, and help with ongoing tasks around the office.
After spending some time in corporate finance with Charles Schwab, he realized that he needed more valuable relationships with the clients and families he was helping. While helping families with their financial journeys, he enjoys getting to know them more and build meaningful relationships with them.
Nate grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Finance and minor in Financial Planning Investments. Learning more about financial markets in both classes and in his free time, he discovered helping families navigate through their financial journeys is his passion.
In his spare time, Nate enjoys active activities such as, hiking, running, working out, and traveling to new areas. He loves showing family and friends all the different food spots Indianapolis has to offer but is not shy to cook a meal himself. You can often find Nate at the lake enjoying water sports or frustrated on the golf course.
Pamela is the newest member of our WealthPoint Advisors team. As Client Services Administrator, Pamela shall have the pleasure of serving our WealthPoint clients as well as providing back-office support for our advisor team members and company operations.
Pamela is a transplant from the residential real estate market in Indianapolis since 2003, and as a Broker, she successfully grew her niche market clientele and mentored new agents, while assisting hundreds of clients realize their dream of owning a home, some multiple times. Pamela also provided project management and design services to those building and renovating homes.
Married for 30 years, Pamela and her husband have four beautiful daughters, Grace, Fran, Eva, and Lily. Both have coached or refereed their daughters in various youth sports or volleyball arenas throughout the years. Two of the girls currently attend college and two have graduated from Indiana colleges. All have proudly grown into amazing young ladies and community members with their own careers and beginning their own new families. Two fantastic gentlemen will become members of the Stephenson clan in 2021 – Welcome Andrew and Ethan!
In her spare time, you will find Pamela either engrossed in the research of amazing properties available in Indianapolis and holistic healing of animals or binge-watching her favorite series on stream while enjoying her coffee. Over the years, Pamela has also coached various tennis and volleyball club and high school teams, and private coached players. Currently, Pamela coaches a girl’s Junior National 14s team for Munciana Indy and will travel with them during the season, all the way to Florida in June.
Pamela also enjoys home renovations, listening to music, beach vacations, and watching her first grandbaby from 2020 grow.
Pamela is a member of the NAR and IAR and the JVA.
